BiographyHistory

Born in Sydney, Joseph Kentigern Heydon was educated in Sydney and England and later studied science at Boston's Massachusetts Institute of Technology and law in Sydney. He worked for a while as an analytical chemist in London before turning to the law and then established a felt manufacturing firm in Sydney, said to be the first in Australia. Heydon married an English woman and eventually retired there.
