BiographyHistory

Originally from the north of England, Grundy was a friend of Branwell Bronte, whom he mentions in his autobiography Pictures of the Past. A civil engineer, Grundy arrived in New South Wales in the 1850s. One of his professional engagements involved preparing a report in 1855 into the 'practicality and expense' of removing obstructions from the Brisbane river.
