BiographyHistory

Vaseris trained as a priest and then studied physics at Heidelberg University in Germany before arriving in Australia. In Australia, he worked as the Catholic chaplin to the Lithuanian community, founding the weekly newspaper Teviskes Aidai (Echoes of Homeland) in 1956. He is described in the National Library of Lithuania online catalogue as a priest, journalist, writer and visual artist. Vaseris actively promoted Australian Lithuanian authors by publishing their works, and he wrote on many subjects including astronomy, works which are held in the National Library of Lithuania. The initial K preceding his name on some catalogue entries refers to his status as a priest.
