BiographyHistory

Overthefence Press is a small independent publisher of fiction and non-fiction for adults and children. Motivated to publish and launch the children's information book, Animals Awake While You Are Asleep (2000), illustrated by Eltham artist and wildlife carer Margo Kroyer-Pedersen, Overthefence Press was founded by four women (three with previous experience in the book trade) in early 2000. Illustrator royalties for the first title (with a print run of 10,000, which soon sold out) were donated to local wildlife shelters. Subsequent titles were Sandy Jeff's Confessions of a Midweek Lady: Tall Tennis Tales (2001), with illustrations by Veronica Holland; and a series of field guides, Birds of South-eastern Australia (2005), illustrated by Susan McInnes.
