BiographyHistory

Hall, who lived in Tahiti for many years, was a prolific novelist and writer of children's books. Many of his novels were written in collaboration with Charles Nordhoff (q.v.) with whom he visited Australia. In addition to Botany Bay with an Australian setting, several other novels are set in the south seas, including the trilogy Mutiny on the Bounty (1932), Men against the Sea (1934) and Pitcairn's Island (1934).
