Founded in Burradoo, New South Wales, by Mary Quick, Juniper Press was a private press that enabled Quick to use her own designs and woodcuts. She illustrated, designed and handprinted four books using her own designs, sometimes also handmaking the paper. A fifth book written by her brother-in-law, C. W. Webster was also published under the Juniper Press imprint but printed by Edwards and Shaw in Sydney. The Press went into a hiatus and the platen was stored in Moss Vale NSW when Mary Quick and her husband accepted work in Canberra, but was retrieved from storage when they relocated to Hobart. Quick wrote to Geoffrey Farmer that she intended to give the treadle press a run on a small job to make sure everything was working properly but died before she could publish any further books.
