BiographyHistory

The firm founded by wholesale bookseller William Simpkin was known from 1834-1939 as Simpkin, Marshall and Co., then reverted to the names Simpkin and Co. In 1979 it became Simpkin, Marshall and Co. again. In 1889 its name was Simpkin, Marshall, Kent and Co. (Notes and Queries 13 Feb. 1943, p.100.).
