In 1988, Pan Books and Macmillan merged under the same marketing and sales umbrella in Australia to form the publishing house Pan Macmillan Australia . 'Pan Macmillan Australia is a major Australian publisher and distributor, with a wide range of titles under the group imprints of Macmillan, Pan, Picador, Macquarie Library, Pancake, St. Martins Press, Tor, Forge, Griffin, Sidgwick & Jackson, Boxtree and Channel 4. It also handles all sales and distribution for Guinness World Records, and through Macmillan Publishing Services, Anness Publishing, Duffy & Snellgrove, Omnibus Press, Peter Lik's Wilderness Press, Australian Geographic, Carlton Books, Brolga, Scribe, Limelight Press, Black Inc., Spinifex Press and a variety of single title agencies, along with some sales and all distribution for Lothian Books. Its Australian publishing encompasses commercial and literary fiction, childrens and teenage fiction, picture books and character product, Australiana, history, biographies, cooking, health and self-help, sport and travel' (www.panmacmillan.com.au).
