Kibble Books was the publishing enterprise of a group of seven people - including Nonie Sharp, Geoff Sharp, John Hinkson and Doug White - associated with Arena magazine in Melbourne, Victoria. The Kibble imprint was used to publish books about cultural or social change, with a particular emphasis on books about change in the Pacific and Asia. Kibble Books operated as a non-profit co-operative, and maintained the view that copyright was not a priority, believing in the free circulation of knowledge and ideas. The Kibble series, Theses on the Left, aimed to encourage discussion of questions of theory and practice in relation to Australian realities.
