BiographyHistory

John Wiley and Sons, Inc. of New York is a publishing company which traces its origins back to 1807, specialising in scientific, technical and medical books and journals, and textbooks and other educational materials . The company has subsidiaries all over the world.

John Wiley and Sons Australia, Ltd is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the New York company. It was founded in 1954 as Jacaranda Wiley Ltd, and renamed in 1999. The School Division publishes textbooks, atlases and dictionaries for the Australian secondary school market under the 'Jacaranda' imprint.
