1 y separately published work icon Australian Science Fiction and Fantasy Series Paul Collins (editor), Cory and Collins (publisher), Void Publications (publisher), 1980 St Kilda : Cory and Collins , 1980-1984 Z1485016 1980 series - publisher novel science fiction fantasy Void Publications, under the ownership and editorial direction of Paul Collins, began publishing science fiction novels and anthologies in 1980 under the series title Australian Science Fiction and Fantasy (ASF&F). The first release was Jack Wodhams' Looking For Blücher, followed by David J. Lake's The Fourth Hemisphere and Wynne Whiteford's first novel Breathing Space Only. All three nominated at the 1981 Ditmar Awards.

In 1981 Collins formed a new publishing venture with artist Rowena Cory. The first title to be released by Cory and Collins was the anthology Distant Worlds (1981). While this title is also included within the ASF&F series, it is also the fourth volume within another Void/Cory and Collins' series called Worlds: Australian Science Fiction and Fantasy. This series effectively continued the Void: Science Fiction and Fantasy magazine which had released five issues between 1975 and 1977. The first three volumes from the World series were published prior to Collins establishing the Australian Science Fiction and Fantasy, and hence are not considered part of that collection. The two Worlds series volumes published after 1980s (Distant Worlds, 1981, and Frontier Worlds, 1983) are included within the ASF&F series.

After closing down Void Publications in 1981 Collins published the latter anthologies through his new company, Cory and Collins. A final title in the "worlds" series, Metaworlds, was released in 1994 by Penguin.
