Tantrum Press was an Adelaide-based non-profit feminist publishing venture established by a collective of four: Diane Brown, Moya Costello, Donna McSkimming and Elizabeth Mansutti, all of whom were occasional writers.An editorial 'arm' or group - initially comprising Bronwen Levy, Deborah McCulloch and Biff Ward - provided additional expertise. Some of the collective had previously been part of the Adelaide-based Country and City Women's Writers Cooperative. From 1986-1994, about seventeen women were a part of the Tantrum collective.

Tantrum Press financed its publications with regular performance readings, which helped to 'capture the attention of the SA women's community', and published eight items in total - four books, two audio cassettes, one video cassette, and a short-lived journal Tarantella. Notably, Tantrum published the works of local poets and locally written and produced plays, including some performed by the locally based feminist theatre collective, Vitalstatistix. It also provided 'an all-important feminist forum for a small group of authors in a state where few other regional publishing opportunities existed'.
