BiographyHistory

Pinchgut Press was established in 1947 by Marjorie Pizer and Muir Holburn to publish Creeve Roe by Victor Daley, whose work the pair had been researching. The Press published The World Against Russia by Eric Payten Dark in 1948, and an anthology of Australian poetry, Freedom on the Wallaby, in 1953, before going into a long recess following Muir Holburn's death in 1960. It was revived in 1975, albeit with different publishing imperatives by Marjorie Pizer and Anne Spencer Parry. Since that time it has published exclusively the work of Pizer and Parry.
