BiographyHistory

Van Ree has written many haiku poems and included his writings in his artworks. With a University of South Australia / South Australian School of Art Master of Visual Arts (1998) and a Bachelor of Education (Secondary), Van Ree taught art education and tutored art at workshops for various art institutions, schools and community groups. His works encompass ceramics, sculpture and poetry, in addition to the intricate botanical and landscape drawings for which he is best known. He had his first exhibition in 1979. Van Ree's work is represented in collections throughout Australia as well as in Japan, England, USA, the Netherlands, South Korea and Germany, and he has won many awards.
