Early in the nineteenth century a French ship was wrecked on a small island off the south-east coast of Victoria. Tradition has it that a cache of brandy was hidden there together with other valuables. Mystery surrounds the death of a straitsman, as well as his family connections and descendants, who are interested in the treasure. Two Anzacs seek to unravel the mystery and experience many weird adventures, including fights with the local remnant of the straitsmen. (E.
