BiographyHistory

John Irving was born in the village of Gobowen on the Welsh border. He has worked in several jobs as well as writing poetry and short stories. He was writer-in-residence for the City of Hawthorn for three years and was involved in establishing La Mama Poetica. He has also edited a collection of oral history for the Melbourne City Council, In Our Time (1985).
