Born in Hamilton in western Victoria, Len Kenna moved to Melbourne at the end of the 1940s. Kenna worked for the Victorian Railways and Australian Post amongst other positions. He graduated from LaTrobe University in 1988 where he studied History and Literature. Kenna's main interests are researching and documenting the contributions that non-British people have made to the development of Australia, in an attempt to reduce racism and bigotry. Kenna has also written In the Beginning There was Only the Land: A History of Bundoora (c. 1988).
