Graham Pitts co-founded Sidetrack Theatre in Sydney in 1979, where he wrote many of the company's early plays. He has created dozens of plays, the best known being Emma -- Celebrazione! (1991) which was produced Australia-wide. Pitts has been a constant advocate for community cultural development, particularly working with people from non-English speaking backgrounds, disadvantaged communities and people living with HIV/AIDS. He has worked in every state and territory of Australia and also been chair of the National Arts and Culture Alliance (NACA).
