BiographyHistory

Elizabeth Butel was a journalist with the National Times 1984-1988. She has edited works for Collins, Angus and Robertson, and ETT Imprint. In the 1980s she was Lloyd Rees' s secretary and recorded and edited his memoir Peaks and Valleys. Her monograph on Margaret Preston was published by Penguin for the travelling AGNSW exhibition in 1985. She had edited the memoirs of Betty Roland, Lewis Morley and Jan Ruff-O'Herne, as well as writing social histories like Kings Cross Album (1984) and Hurstville Oval (2002).'
