BiographyHistory

Airey's family migrated to Queensland when he was ten years old. After finishing school Airey spent a period working in the Queensland Education Department. In 1901 he was elected as a Labor Member of the Queensland Legislative Assembly and later went on to become Home Secretary and Treasurer.
