Moya Sayer-Jones studied at The University of Sydney and the Australian Film Radio and Television School. She worked in television, on programs such as The Ferals, Bananas in Pyjamas, Lift Off, and Petals. She has also been a newspaper journalist, writing the original series of the 'Modern Guru' column in the Age and Sydney Morning Herald newspapers. Sayer-Jones has worked in children's theatre, and performed as a comedian in Australia and the United Kingdom. She has been an active professional public speaker, utilising her comic talents to create workshops and strategies for team building and workplace motivation. She has also written They: Challenging Australian Lifestyle Myths (1998), about people with social disabilities, and edited Inspiring, Not Retiring: A Book of Stories Celebrating the Contributions of Older Australians (2005).
