Shane Howard is a prolific Australian songwriter. One of seven children, he was born into a musical family.

His songs 'champion the cause of the underdog, provide meaningful insights into the human spirit and interpret the Australian landscape in a way that has helped to build a bridge between Aboriginal and non Aboriginal peoples'.

Howard 'combines a deep understanding of poetic and musical folk traditions and captures something essential of the spirit of Australia in words and music'.

Howard is 'a recipient of an Australia Council Fellowship, PFFF Artist of the Year, 2005 and a patron of the Spirit of Eureka Committee. He is also a founding member of the Tarerer Festival and the internationally acclaimed Black Arm Band.'
