'Martyn's career in the movie industry began at the age of fifteen when he commenced his first job as a spool boy at a cinema in the city of Sydney. After twelve months he was promoted to assistant projectionist, and two years later, projectionist. Working the suburban relief roster, he screened a double feature at a different cinema every night, ten different movies per week, "heaven".
'Having a strong affinity with the Renaissance men of modern cinema, Martyn Park epitomizes the do-it-yourself attitude and self-immersing approach to movie making, an approach more akin to a solo artist than a conventional writer/director. When working as A Lonedog Production, he routinely takes on all the crewing roles, working entirely on his own. This solo method of filmmaking also continues through the post-production process. His style is best described as auteur-driven minimalism, in which he tells intimate stories on a cinematic scale.
'In 2009, after many years spent pursuing their individual creative leanings, Martyn and his brother Ray (Rotton) decided the time was right to fuse their talents and see what could become of it. They formed a new production company - Park Brothers Productions - all things genre.'
