Alison Flett's poetry collection Whit Lassyz Ur Inty was shortlisted for the Saltire Book of the Year Award. She performed her work on national television and radio and at literary festivals in Britain and Europe.

In 2014, her manuscript was shortlisted for the Witmore Press Manuscript Award. She has also been longlisted for the Elizabeth Jolley Short Story Prize and the UK-based Bridport Short Story Prize, and shortlisted for the Adelaide Festival Unpublished Manuscript Award, The University of Canberra International Poetry Prize and the Newcastle Poetry Prize.

She was the poetry editor for Transnational Literature and later Little Windows Press with Jill Jones.
