Television script-writer.

Brendan Luno was educated at Swinburne University of Technology, and began work as a script-writer with Rubbery Figures (which ran from 1984 to 1990), a puppet show that satirised local and international political and social figures. Throughout the 1990s, Luno wrote extensively for television comedies, including sit-coms Bligh (1992), Bingles (1992), and Newlyweds (1993-1994) and spoof soap-opera Shark Bay (1996). The majority of his credits in this period, however, are for television sketch comedies, including The D Generation (1986-1987), The Gerry Connolly Show (1988), Tonight Live with Steve Vizard (1990-1993), Fast Forward (1989-1992), Jimeoin (1994-1995), Full Frontal (1993-1997), Get a Life (1997), Eric (1997), Something Stupid (1998), and The Late Report (1999).

Luno continued to write intermittently for sketch comedies throughout the 2000s, including for Greeks on the Roof (2003), Let Loose Live (2005), Comedy Inc. (2005-2006), The Wedge (2006-2007), Whatever Happened to That Guy? (2009), and Sleuth 101 (2010).

From 1999, however, Luno also moved into writing for children's television, beginning with Chuck Finn (1999-2000). He followed this with scripts for puppet show Li'l Horrors and for live-action teen program Snake Tales (2009), of which he was also co-creator. The majority of his scripts for children's television, however, have been for animated programs, including Quads! (2002), Staines Down Drains (2006), Dogstar (2007), Master Raindrop (2008), Dex Hamilton: Alien Entomologist (2008-2009), Zigby (2009), and Flea-bitten! (2011).

Luno's current work follows this pattern of focusing on children's speculative-fiction animated television programs, with scripts for the forthcoming God Squad, Shezow, and Get Ace.
