BiographyHistory

'Rainee Skinner was born and educated in Nambour. After completing her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Queensland and working for Ansett Airlines for two years in Public Relations, Skinner moved to Sydney to pursue an acting career. She worked both as an actor and an English Language teacher (at the University of NSW) before returning to the Sunshine Coast to raise her family Since her return, she has further developed her career in writing, acting and communication.

She completed a Post Graduate Diploma of Creative Writing at the University of the Sunshine Coast, where she was also an English Language teacher for six years. Rainee Skinner has worked both in Brisbane (Qld University of Technology as teacher in Communication) and at a local Language school and continues to write and perform in plays.' The Boy in the Cardboard Box 2012 single work drama 'A funeral is about to take place in the suburban family home of Johnny, a flamboyant and beguiling actor most recently from Sydney. His body is in the house and is lying unseen in a cardboard coffin in the next room. The start time has been delayed and three of Johnny’s friends from different times of his life meet. They share stories and search for reasons why their friend drank himself to death. They are feeling angry and guilty and look for comfort and redemption. Much is revealed about Johnny.'
