Wilton (editor), Sydney : Arthur Hill , 1828 Z813020 1828 periodical (4 issues) As a dedicated journal of theology, the Australian Quarterly Journal of Theology, Literature and Science advertised itself in the following manner: 'The Australian Magazine will be conducted on the sound basis of the doctrine of the Church of England, and in strict accordance with her formularies and discipline. In its political views ... it will be ever found a zealous supporter of the Altar and Throne. As a Journal of Literature and Science, The Australian Magazine will contain, besides a miscellaneous Collection of interesting Matter, including Poetry, Extracts from Travels, Voyages, etc and a Review of any Works that may be published in the Colony, a regular Report of any scientific Discovery which may be made, as well in Australia, as in Van Diemen's Land, New Zealand, etc and in the Mother Country.'
