BiographyHistory

Script-writer and script editor.

Kirsty Fisher started out behind the scenes in television in the late 1990s,as the assistant to the producer on Halifax f.p. (1997-1998), then as a trainee script editor on Stingers (1998).

Her first scripts were produced the following decade, for The Sleepover Club (2003), for which she was also script editor. In 2004, she wrote three episodes of young-adult science-fiction drama Silversun, and in 2005 worked as script editor on comedy series Last Man Standing. In 2006 and 2007, she worked for Jonathan M. Shiff Productions on two of their young-adult fantasy television series: H2O: Just Add Water (2006-2007, as both script-writer and script editor) and Pirate Islands: The Lost Treasure of Fiji (2007).

Fisher's output has accelerated in the past two years: as well as scripts for Emmy-nominated young-adult series Dance Academy (2012), she is the co-creator (with Marieke Hardy) of Laid (2011-2012), which attracted an AACTA Award nomination and won an AWGIE Award, and has written for Winners & Losers (2011-2012), created by Bevan Lee and John Holmes.
