BiographyHistory

A. J. Slatterie was the editor of the New South Wales Magazine; or, Journal of General Politics, Literature, Science and the Arts. In 1841 and 1842, Slatterie delivered lectures on education and modern history at the School of Arts in 1841 and 1842. In late 1842, a notice appeared in the New South Wales Government Gazette relating to the insolvent estate of 'Apollos Joseph Slatterie', schoolmaster, of Hatfield Buildings, Surry Hills, Sydney. It is likely that this is the same Slatterie who edited the New South Wales Magazine.
