BiographyHistory

Lionel Logue grew up in Adelaide where he studied elocution. Following World War I, he treated shell-shocked soldiers who had developed speech impediments. Logue practiced speech therapy in London; the Duke of York (later King George VI) being among his clients. Logue was a founding fellow of the College of Speech Therapists.

Logue formed a lasting friendship with George VI. Their relationship is featured in the film The King's Speech (2010).
