BiographyHistory

Emile Sherman, who holds a Masters Degree in English Literature and a Bachelor of Law Degree, started his professional career in journalism before entering the film industry. In 2000 he founded Ocean Pictures, a feature film production and distribution company that produced such films as Phillip Noyce's Rabbit-Proof Fence, Paul Goldman's The Night We Called It a Day, and Ted Emery's The Honourable Wally Norman. Sherman also produced Rod Freedman's award-winning documentary Uncle Chatzkel (2000).

Through his current company, Sherman Pictures, he has produced Opal Dream (directed by Peter Cattaneo) and Neil Armfield's Candy (2006). See Saw Films, a division of Sherman Pictures, also co-produced Wog Boy 2: Kings of Mykonos (2010) with Nick Giannopoulos' company G.O. Films. Sherman Pictures has additionally acted as executive-producer and Australian distributor for Anna Reeves' Oyster Farmer (2005).
