BiographyHistory

Hazel Hawke was educated at Mt Hawthorn State School and the Perth Central Girls School. She married Bob Hawke in 1956 and worked at the Indian High Commission in Canberra. She later studied for a Diploma of Welfare Studies. She moved to the Lodge in Canberra when Bob Hawke became Prime Minister in 1983. Hazel and Bob Hawke divorced in 1995. Hazel Hawke is the mother of Sue Pieters-Hawke.
