BiographyHistory

Steven Jampijinpa Patrick is an Elder from the Northern Territory community of Lajamanu belonging to the Warlpiri people. Jampijinpa is the son of Warlpiri Elder Jerry Jangala. Jampijinpa's knowledge of Warlpiri language and culture is extensive and he has worked as a Community Liaison Officer and Teachers Assistant at the Lajamanu Community Education Centre. Jampijinpa is driven by his passion for reinvigorating Warlpiri culture by finding traditional principles that are relevant to today's community life. In 2007, Steve Jampijinpa Patrick was awarded the 'National Curriculum Award' for his work at Lajamanu.
