BiographyHistory

Besley Murray left school at the age of thirteen and learnt how to ride a racehorse from a station manager. His racing career ended 'in 1946 when he went to ride in the Thorpe McConnville's Wild Australia Show.' Source: Aboriginal Stars of the Turf: Jockeys of Australian Racing History 57-59 (2003)
