BiographyHistory

'Waparla Pananykarra was Sandy [Alexander] Brown's (q.v.) brother. He started as a stockman on De Grey Station, before switching to repairing and building windmills. He also worked with the well sinkers.' Waparla Pananykarra left the station during the 1946 strike' but returned when conditions for Aboriginal workers were improved in the 1960s and 70s. He later shared his time between Yandeyarra and 12 Mile just on the outskirts of Port Hedland.'
