1 1 The Tantalisations of Tuppitt Matt Maloney , 1938 series - author short story humour 'A series of six stories surrounding the extraordinary career of Mr. Thomas T. Tuppitt. Mr Tuppitt is not merely a character - he is a genius. Tuppitt, declares the author, was the man who sold Parliament House, Canberra, to the Defence Department as a likely site for a fort. He also founded the 'Tuppitt Tireless Trackers,' a form instituted for the purposes of finding lost dogs in order to gain the rewards, while another notable scheme devised by this gifted man was the 'Harmony Home Matrimonial Bureau' which was incorporated 'Tuppitts Trysting Temple'.'
