BiographyHistory

Peter Lawrence was Professor of Anthropology at the University of Sydney (1970-1986). Educated at Cambridge, he lived for a time in Papua New Guinea. His other works include Road Belong Cargo (1964) and The Garia (1984). He edited Oceania for a number of years.
