BiographyHistory

Margaret Mungulu grew up in Mowanjum, an Aboriginal Community in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Mungulu 'spent a great deal of time with her father Alan (deceased)decorating didjeridoos and carving boab nuts and emu eggs. After her schooling, Margaret spent eight years nursing at Derby Regional Hospital... For many years, Margaret was at Pantijan Station, where she learned about her country. Many of her paintings depict the stories that are legendary among the three tribes' of the region.
