Born in Chrysopege, Crete, in 1923, he arrived in Australia in 1956. He died in 1982. His work was published in Greek and English. He went to school on the island of Crete and was still a high school student when war broke out. He joined the resistance movement in Crete during the German occupation. In 1946 he went into the Greek army and, in 1950, after demobilisation, he went to Athens where he worked in his cousin's vehicle customs agency. In Australia he worked mainly in factories. His poetry has been set to music by the Melbourne composer Kostas Tsikaderis and performed at numerous community functions. He was also known for his talent in sketching. He was a founding member of the Association of Greek Writers of Australia and of the Greek Australian Cultural League. In 1958 he was awarded first prize in the poetry competition of the League of Greeks from Egypt and the Middle East, in 1961, first prize in the short story competition of the Federation of Greek Orthodox Communities of Australia and in 1972, the Gold Medal for the best lyrics in the fifth festival of Greek song held as part of Melbourne Greek Week.
