At this stage, it is not clear whether Beatrice Parsons the author is the same Beatrice Parsons who, having studied at Methodist Ladies' College in Melbourne, returned to the school as games mistress, before departing to London in 1938, where she worked for the Red Cross during World War II, eventually returning to Australia (with the rank of Captain) in the 1940s. (See, for example, 'Old Collegians' Dinner', Argus, 3 December 1946, p.10.)
