BiographyHistory

Composer, arranger and conductor Bruce Rowland composed musical scores for film and television including AFI award winning scores for The Man From Snowy River (1982), Phar Lap (1983) and Rebel (1985) as well as a Penguin Award for the mini series All the Rivers Run (1983). Music for television included music and songs for the ABC children's television program Adventure Island (1967 - 1972). In 2009 Rowland collaborated with John-Michael Howson (q.v.) to create Adventure Island : The Next Generation, a live pantomime version of the original Adventure Island television series.

Rowland won an ARIA award in 2002 for his score to 'The Man from Snowy River' Arena Spectacular, and wrote and conducted the music for the opening of the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. He received the APRA International Achievement Award for his work in film in 2006.
