BiographyHistory

When Jimmy Ryan was born at Meareabundie Outcamp near Byro Station Homestead, he was the only son of Henry and Maudie Ryan. He began mustering at the age of twelve and had an extensive amount of knowledge about the different plants, animals and insects in the area. In September 1950, Jimmy married a woman named Rita McGibbon who had worked at Yallalong Station as a house girl. They adopted and raised two boys together.
