One evening when Lila is out, Rhoda succumbs to temptation and tries on some of Lila's luxurious underwear. When she hears what she believes is a thief enter the flat she is terrified, but her natural bravery results in a special reward.

When an earthquake strikes the area Minerva is terrified. Her modern ideas desert her and she learns about her mother's wisdom.
