BiographyHistory

Jack Jebydah was a fully initiated and highly influential member of his community. He lived at Koonibba mission in Western Australia and received baptismal instruction there. In 1909, his marriage was consecrated by the church. Jebydah is mentioned in Outback Ghettos : A History of Aboriginal Institutionalisation and Survival as an example of an Indigenous Elder who upheld both Indigenous ceremonial life and Christianity.
