BiographyHistory

Edna Newchurch is an Elder living in the Adelaide area. She was born at Raukkan, then known as Point McLeay Mission, and grew up there. Her mother was Alison Rankine-Lovegrove and her father was Frank Lovegrove. Edna Newchurch was the first Aboriginal girl from Raukkan to go to High School. She chose a career in nursing, first in Hamilton in Victoria and then at Hampstead Road in Northfield in suburban Adelaide.
