Yiannis Kouros was born in 1956, in Tripoli of Arcadia, Greece. He is renowned world wide as a marathon runner. He is an artist, writer, poet, as well as a music producer and song writer. He has lived in Melbourne since 1990. In 1992 he was enrolled at La Trobe University. In 1996, he published To hexaemero tou aiona and in 1997 he published his first book of poetry, titled: Symplegmata: echoi kai stichoi. Both were published in Athens.
