'When 15-year-old Lucy Lam wins the inaugural Equal Access Scholarship to a prestigious private school, the smart and well-liked student is not prepared for the new world she’s suddenly propelled into. It’s a world of wealth and opportunity, overseen by The Cabinet – a trio of girls who wield power over their classmates, and even their teachers. But when The Cabinet turn their attention to Lucy she has to make a choice: fit in and succeed, or stay true to herself. Either way, there’s a cost.'

'As the extinction of the human race looms, three women cycle for our lives.

'An exciting contemporary work blending narrative, durational exertion, science and technology, Oil Babies explores the complexities of our relationship to both climate change and the female body.

'Blending lyrical, rapid-fire text with poetic imagery and domestic drama, Oil Babies is a dangerous, pithy and at times comedic work that speaks directly to the concerns we hold now.

'Written and directed by Petra Kalive and featuring an all-female cast, Oil Babies re-positions our lives as one on the precipice of a planet dramatically changing – and perhaps the moment before our own extinction.'

1 1 Three Dog Night Petra Kalive , 2008 single work drama '"Three Dog Night", questions the philosophical challenge of learning how to die and Australia's conflicted multi-culture. It is an ironic, restless and at times confronting work about the fathomless human capacity for self-deception; about the means we invent to hide our true feelings. This modern day tragedy explores the underlying impulses that shape human behaviour via an Aboriginal Dreaming. Indigenous spirituality and storytelling are intrinsic to this story's exploration of the clinical conviction that compassion is the means to liberation. Beginning in the Adelaide Hills, Three Dog Night journeys to the vast expanse of the Australian outback and takes us deep into the desert of the human soul.'
