Mirko Jurak was Professor of English at the University of Ljubljana. He was also Head of the English department, Dean and Deputy Dean of the Philosophical Faculty and Deputy Vice Chancellor of his university. Jurak was the editor of Acta Neophilologica, a journal of Slovene, English and German studies. He was a scholar of Slovene exile literature in the USA, Australia and other Commonwealth countries.
