Bonny Tucker was born on Bonny Downs Station. Her birth date is unknown. She is the daughter of Snake McKenna, a Kartujarra man, and Kijiyamba, who was also known as Fanny McKenna and Jonah. Tucker never went to school, although she wanted to, because her parents were afraid she would be taken away by Native Welfare. Tucker's family worked on Bamboo Springs Station, and Tucker herself worked as a domestic. Tucker was a promised bride to Percy Tucker (q.v.) and married him according to Aboriginal law, and later married him in a legal ceremony as well. Tucker had six children with her husband and raised Percy's three children from his previous marriage. Percy died of Asbestosis in Onslow.
