Wobby Parker was born on Munjina Station (now part of the Karijini National Park). His birth date is not recorded. Parker's maternal grandfather was Tommy Tucker and his father was Sam Coffin. Both his parents were from the Punjima people. Parker first worked on Mulga Downs Station and travelled between stations as work arose. After the asbestos mine was established Parker was moved, like many other Aboriginal people, to the Roebourne reserve because of concerns that the asbestos mine was poisonous. Parker has had three wives, including Queenie Yuline and Lola Young, and had nine children survive infancy.
